Well, i will post up some leadership thoughts that i have in mind from my reading.. Just my personal thoughts and hope you all will contribute by thinking about it and tagging it down, thus helping us all to learn and become a better leader.. I will try to post at least one article per week till my NS period.. ^^ The First thing we are gonna cover is about human-relationship.. Reason being we are human.. =.= oki, i know abit lame, but its a fact that human are what we are leading, if you do not know about them, then how do you lead them? People nowadays are different from the past, they are doing well in thinking quicker, working smarter, dream wider and relate to each other in a different way. Compare people in the past, for example me, when i just come into secondary one, when i was in BB, i do not question back the officers on the things that they ask me to do, but now, things are different, they ask, and wanna know why.. So if you are a leader, what is needed to be done? Well, taken from the book, leaders will have to keep their wits about them through conditions of near-constant change.. In simple understand, it is to be well-equip in the environment that is changing all the time. (More ways to equip yourself will be post up in future) oki, lets backtrack abit to human-relationship, why is it important? Give some thoughts to it.. Well, if you have a good human-relations skills, you will have the ability to change people from managing others to leading others. Have you ever see a leader that is have bad human-relations but people still follow him? When you go to him for help he will tell you, none of my business. Will this type of leader attract you? So start to build up your human-relation skills, some simple way but most of us does not do it, even for me sometime, 1. Look at things from the other person's perspective, know where is he coming from and not about yourself all the time. 2. Give honest and sincere appreciation, it will make the other person felt that he did help you. (even if there isn't help) 3. Becoming genuinely interested in others, which will make you know him more and understand each other better. Think about it, i'm sure all this will help in becoming a better leader.
